August Leisure Group
The Leisure Group will be going to Decatur, AL on Tuesday, August 17th. We'll eat lunch at Big Bob Gibson's Bar-B-Q and tour the Cooke Museum of Natural Science. Be at the church at 9 am that day, we'll leave at 9:15. Museum tickets are $20, $17 for seniors. Sign-up sheets will be posted around the church or contact adam@fumctrussville.com to get on the list. Please sign-up by August 11th.
Mission Opportunity at The Community Food Bank Starting in August
On June 22nd several people from our church had the opportunity to serve at the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama packaging food items for disadvantaged families. It was a wonderful experience. We packaged enough boxes to feed 292 families. The Mission Team has decided to make this a monthly volunteer opportunity for the entire congregation. The Community Food Bank of Central Alabama has reserved slots for our church on the first shift from 9:00 to 11:30 am the fourth Thursday of each month starting August the 26th. UMM Vegetable Dinner
The United Methodist Men will host a “Vegetable Dinner” on August 18th at 5:30 pm in the Family Life Center. The menu for the dinner is baby lima beans, macaroni and cheese, fried okra, sliced tomatoes, corn on the cob, cornbread and banana pudding. Please sign up to attend in the Sunday School Classrooms or call the Church Office to make reservations. This is a fundraiser for the Methodist Men and we will be accepting donations for the meal.
Children’s Ministry Coming Events
-Tween Retreat
We are going to reschedule our Tween Retreat day. It was originally set for August 21. More info on that as we reset the plans.
-Back to School Bash
Back to School Bash is coming up quickly. August 8th from 5-7 pm at the Mall. Food trucks, live music, inflatables, face painting, and a lot of giveaways.

Worship Tech Ministry Opportunities
The Worship Tech Team is currently looking for volunteers to assist in running the computer for the screens, the Sling for livestreaming and the soundboard. You will be taught everything you need to know and it is a great way to help in the production of our weekly services.
