Village of Hope Widows Project
The Naomi Girls are sponsoring homes to be built for widows in Kabakuli, Uganda. They need your help! For every 32 people that donate $25 dollars each, one home can be built for a widow in need. YOU can make a difference! If you or your group would like to make a donation, please make your check payable to Trussville First UMC and put “Naomi Houses” on the memo line. You can also give online at this link. Follow the Missions fund link and select Naomi Houses as the sub fund. The donations for the houses will be collected until Sunday, September 18, 2022. June's Naomi Girls Luncheon will take place on Friday, June 17th at 11:30 am at Sherry’s Café in Trussville. If you plan to attend, please contact Linda Shaddix as soon as possible as reservations are needed for Sherry's Café.
Designs for Hope Eyeglasses Donation
The New Beginnings Sunday School class will be accepting donations of used eyeglasses for Designs of Hope. They will be sending the donations to Uganda. All used prescription glasses are accepted, including readers! The donation box will be in the New Beginnings Sunday School room until the first Sunday in June. Start of Summer Splash
The Trussville Methodist Consignment Sale is sponsoring a Children’s Ministry event: “Start of Summer Splash” on Wednesday, May 25 from 5-7 pm in lieu of Wednesday Night Live activities. We will have hot dogs and a water slide in the back parking lot. Please bring outdoor chairs and/or blankets for a picnic-style dinner. All are welcome – come join us for a fun family night!
SWAG End of Summer Celebration
Sunday, May 22nd from 4:30 PM - 7:00 PM. We will do Mini-golf and enjoy pizza at The Backyard in Leeds. Drop off and pick up will be at the church. Cost is $10. For more information, contact Molly Hatcher at mollyahatcher@gmail.com
Organ Fundraiser Meal
On Sunday, May 22, the New Beginnings Sunday School Class will serve a delicious Spaghetti Lunch in the Fellowship Hall to raise money to purchase the new organ. We will begin serving after Sunday School (approximately 10:45 am) and continue serving after the 2nd Church Service (approximately 11:30 am) Donations will be used to purchase the new organ and are greatly appreciated. Please join us! If your class or group is interested in a Wednesday night fundraiser this summer, please contact the church office at 205-655-3259 to reserve your spot.
Basic Lay Servant Ministry Class (New Date and Location)
A basic Lay Servant Ministry class is planned for Saturday, May 21st at Ashville UMC from 9am until 5pm. If you are interested in becoming certified Lay Servants or certified Lay Speakers, or have not had a class/training in over 5 years, please contact the church office for more information.
Community Food Bank
The Mission Team volunteers this month at the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama from 9:00 to 11:30 am on Thursday, June 16th. We are always accepting new volunteers! If you would like to join the team, please call Charlene Sharp at 205-835-2691 or email at csharp@bellsouth.net to register.
