Your Place in Ministry - October 31st

Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday, November 7th. Be sure to set your clocks back one hour before going to bed!

AAA Driving Class for Seniors
Every three years since 2013, the Friendship Class has sponsored a AAA driving class for senior drivers. Next spring would be time to again host the class. However, AAA is no longer holding these classes in remote locations. So, we will NOT be having a class at our church. It is available online at this link.

Poinsettia Sale
This Christmas season, Missions is selling 8” poinsettias for only $20 to help support our Church missions. Our poinsettias are grown by Rainbow Omega, a residential home to 79 adults ranging in age from 18 – 79 years old, with developmental disabilities. Rainbow Omega means “hope in the end”. Poinsettia Sunday will be Dec. 12th, and we ask that you leave your poinsettias in the Church Sanctuary until after our 11 am service. Orders may be placed until Sunday, December 5th. The completed order form, along with your payment, may be turned in to the Church office or placed in the collection plate. Order forms are available in the Transept, Welcome Center and the Church office. Make checks payable to FUMC and write “Poinsettia” on the memo line. Please purchase one poinsettia per person that you wish to honor or remember and to avoid any confusion, designate on your order form who is to receive the poinsettia. Thank you for your support.

UMM Monthly Meeting
The United Methodist Men will hold their monthly meeting on Sunday, November 14th at 7.00 a.m. The speaker for this month will be Dr. Pattie Neill, Superintendent of Trussville City Schools. Children's Ministry Upcoming Events
- Trunk or Treat:
It's TRUNK OR TREAT time!
We are hosting our annual Trunk or Treat in the back parking lot this Sunday, October 31st from 4:00 - 5:30 PM!

- Bring a Buddy Challenge:
Throughout the month of October, our children can participate in a “Bring a Buddy to Church” challenge. They can bring friends to Sunday School, church service, or Wednesday Night LIVE throughout the month and we will tally up points at the end of the month. There will be other ways to earn points as well. The top 3 points leaders will earn a prize, and there will be a group prize for hitting the goal that you won’t want to miss! Be on the lookout in your emails and on our Children’s Facebook page for more details!

- Operation Christmas Child shoebox drive is underway. Please drop off your filled shoeboxes at the church during the week of November 8th in order to return them in time for National Collection Week. If you didn’t pick up a shoebox, you can purchase a plastic shoebox, or wrap a regular shoebox (wrap the lid separately) with pretty paper. When delivering your boxes to the church, please remember to include a $9 donation per box for shipping. Make your check for postage payable to Samaritan's Purse. Thank you for your generosity!
