The mission of the acolyte is to serve God and the church as an active participant during worship.
Part of the acolyte’s duty is to carry the light of Christ into the Sanctuary to begin the service and carry it out at the end of the service.  The acolyte ministry originated from Old Testament times. Since ancient times, light and fire have reminded people that God is with us. This ministry helps our children to fulfill the vows made to serve by our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service, and our witness. It provides a meaningful opportunity to be involved and serve in the Lord’s House as helpers and attendants in the Worship service.
