Note:
- If you would like to purchase one of the new hymnals for our Sanctuary in honor or memory of someone, the cost is $35 and order forms are in the Transept. Thank you.

- Cherub/Children’s Choir (ages 3 thru 6th grade) will begin meeting each Wednesday in room 154 upstairs over the Church Office began on Wednesday, Sept. 20th.  The Children’s Choir will meet 5:00-5:30 pm and the Cherub Choir will meet at 6:30-7:00 pm.

- We are collecting candy now for our annual “Trunk-or-Treat” at the end of the October. The collection bin is location by the portrait of John Wesley near the front door. Details to sign up for a trunk will be online soon.

- The Angel Tree for the Church Without Walls will be put up by the Front Doors on November 12th.  Unwrapped gifts in large trash bags will need to be returned to the church office WITH THE ANGEL TAG by December 10th.   Minimum $100 gift(s).

- The Lovelady Toilet Tissue Drive continues.  You can stack the tissue by the front doors next to the Fellowship Hall. Thank you for your help.


UPCOMING FALL BIBLE STUDIES
Bible Study sign-up sheets are located in the Sunday school classes, the Transept, the Welcome Center, or you can sign up ONLINE. Please sign up today so that we know how many books to order.

—“The Story”
Begins Sunday, October 1 at 4:30 pm and Wednesday, October 4 at 6:30 pm. The studies will run 34 weeks. 
Led by Dr. Steve Strange.  Location TBD. Everyone who has signed up for this study is asked to be at the first meeting on October 1st at 4:30 pm.

—”Luke: The Compassion of Christ” 
by Dr. David Jeremiah. 
This Bible study will begin on Wednesday, October 4 at 4 pm and will run approx. 12 weeks.  
Led by Rick Sharp.  Location TBD.  

—”Bad Girls of the Bible” 
Thursdays, starting October 5 from 6-7 pm and will run approximately 8 weeks. 
Led by Rev. Shan Odom. Location TBD. Bring your food and your babies! (No nursery) 

—”The Gospel of Mark”
Wednesdays, starting October 4 from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. The study will run approximately 34 weeks.
Be sure to bring your bible. Led by Rev. Shan Odom. Location TBD.

—CR 12 Step Study 
Wednesdays at 6 pm and Sundays at 3 pm. 
Still open for everyone to join. Led by Rev. Shan Odom.

Grace Vision Fundraiser Meal
Join us on Wednesday, October 4th at 5:30 pm in the CLC for the Grace Vision Hamburger/Hotdog Fundraiser Meal. We will have delicious hamburgers and hotdogs and you can “have it your way” with the trimmings you like. All donations are greatly appreciated and will be used to purchase new microphones and electronic equipment for the CLC. Thank you for your help.

Circle One Pecan Fundraiser
Circle One will be selling pecans from Priester's again this year.  The price will be $11.50 per bag for halves or pieces.  Please complete an order form and submit it along with your check made payable to "Circle One".  Forms are available in the Transept, Welcome Center and church office. You can place your order with Robin Brown, Cindy Lawson or bring it to the church office. The deadline for orders is Monday, October 23.  They will be delivered before Thanksgiving. Thank you for supporting our fundraiser.

Naomi Girls Update
-- We’ve had an exiting year! Thank you very much to all who gave donations to the Naomi Girls project, repairing water wells and solar box kits, a total of $10,615,00. You have made a difference in many lives.

Celebrate Recovery
- Celebrate Recovery will host our annual Chili Cookoff on October 31st. Please email Pastor Shan to sign up at pastor.shankay@gmail.com.
- We have tshirts for $10, long sleeve shirts for $15 and sweatshirts for $20 on sale. See one of the leadership members to purchase yours and support our ministry.
- We will have our 2024 planning meeting October 8th from 4 to 5 and everyone is welcome to attend and learn more about our goals for the new year. We greatly appreciate all of the love and support you have shown over the past 4 years of this ministry.

Foundations for Hope
Come out for a morning of fun at Foundations for Hope’s 2nd Annual 5K on Saturday, October 7, starting at 8 am. The race will be held in the Trussville Entertainment District. Runners, Walkers, or Jerry Can relay teams all available. The goal of the Foundations For Hope 5K is to provide clean drinking water to underserved communities in Kenya and provide protection from preventable disease while empowering the witness of the local church. Sleep in Heavenly Peace Mission
—We will leave the back parking lot on Saturday, September 23 at 7:30 am and travel to Harris Doyle Homes (3111 Timberlake Dr. B'ham 35243), where we will learn how to assemble the bed kits for Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Please call the church office if you plan to join us. We are planning to take the church bus, which will hold 14 people, or you can take your own car and meet us there. We should return around 12:30 pm.

—The Women’s Ministry of Trussville First is asking for your help with donations toward their “Sleep in Heavenly Peace” mission. The deadline to donate is November 24 and the amount needed is $5,000. The Women's Ministry will be hosting a bed building event on December 16 *NOTE DATE CHANGE* to assemble 20 bed kits at a cost of $250 each. The kits include the frame, mattress and bedding. The Women's Ministry is asking for donations to fund the kits. Any amount is appreciated! Please mark your checks for "SHP beds" to donate. TEAM HAS MOVED!
TEAM (Trussville Ecumenical Assistive Ministry) supported by donations and volunteers from First Methodist Church of Trussville and seven other Christian churches in this area. WE HAVE MOVED to 570 Simmons Drive, Suite A, close to the Trussville Post Office, now open Mondays and Fridays from Noon until 2:00 pm.  If you know of people in Trussville or the surrounding areas who could benefit from assistance with food or clothing, please help us extend Christian charity and love by referring them to us.  For additional information, call us at (205) 661-5039 or contact your Board representative Louise Jensen. 

Women’s Ministry Hygiene Product Drive
The Women’s Ministry is asking for monetary donations for specifically requested hygiene products to be purchased for Lovelady Center and Brother Bryan Ministries.  Please make your donations to the church and put "HYGIENE PRODUCTS" in the memo section. Thank you for your help with this new ministry!

Talledega Football Team
We are preparing meals for the Talladega Football team this year.  We have the opportunity to serve several pre-game meals. We need your help with funding the meals and also, we need lots of snack crackers and powdered Gatorade or Powerade.

Prayer Wall
We have a Prayer Wall that is available for adding your prayer requests.  It can also be used by anyone who would like to pray for the requests that are on the wall. It is located between the Christian Life Center and the Transept so that everyone has an opportunity to add prayer requests and/or pray for prayer requests.  Your ministers and staff will also take turns praying over the Prayer Wall. Please join us.

TMM Monthly Meeting
The Trussville Methodist Men will conduct their next monthly meeting on Sunday, October 8, 2023. Breakfast will be served at 7:00 am in the Fellowship Hall by the Open Door Sunday School Class. During this meeting, Curtis Garner and Garey Morrison will provide information on the current status of the Global Methodist Church and what took place at the Global Methodist Church Provisional State Conference held in June. They will also discuss the financial status of the Global Methodist Church as well as First Methodist Church of Trussville. Please remember that wives and children are welcome at the breakfast. Community Food Bank

Celebrate Recovery
Anyone dealing with Hurts, Habits, or Hang-Ups is welcome to join us any Tuesday night for Celebrate Recovery.
We serve a snack dinner from 6pm – 6:30pm, followed by our large group program, then small groups. Please note: If you only want to attend large group, you are welcome to do so. If you are interested in possibly giving your testimony, call the church (205-655-3259) and leave a message with Candy. Someone from the leadership team will contact you.
