Your Place in Ministry - August 29th
New Mission Opportunity
We need your help! We have an awesome mission opportunity to minister to local youth over the next few weeks. We are going to feed the Huffman Varsity Football Team every Thursday night for the next nine weeks. We can feed them both physically and spiritually – sharing Christ each week as we provide the meals.
-We will need 75 meals for the next nine weeks, either prepared in to-go boxes or purchased at local restaurants in a to-go format.
-Your group or class can prepare a meal, or if your group or class is small, partner with another group or class to prepare a meal. If you are an individual who just wants to donate, we can use it to purchase food supplies for these meals.
-We will also be collecting cases of water, Gatorade, prepackaged peanut butter and assorted crackers, and power bars to take to the team so that they have these on hand.
-Please contact the church office (205-655-3259) to sign up for these meals. You can bring the supplies mentioned to the church office. Thank you for your help and God richly bless you!

Mission Opportunity at The Community Food Bank
Earlier this summer, several people from our church had the opportunity to serve at the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama packaging food items for disadvantaged families. It was a wonderful experience. We packaged enough boxes to feed 292 families. The Mission Team has decided to make this a monthly volunteer opportunity for the entire congregation. The Community Food Bank of Central Alabama has reserved slots for our church on the first shift from 9:00 to 11:30 am the fourth Thursday of each month. Please call Charlene Sharp at 205.835.2691 or email at csharp@bellsouth.net to register to volunteer.
Worship Tech Ministry Opportunities
The Worship Tech Team is currently looking for volunteers to assist in running the computer for the screens, the Sling for livestreaming and the soundboard. You will be taught everything you need to know and it is a great way to help in the production of our weekly services. If you're interested in joining our team, please contact the church office at 205-655-3259.
