- Please join me in the new Women’s study, “The Gospel of John”, by Melissa Spoelstra. This is a 7-session study, meeting on Thursday mornings at 9:30 beginning August 15th. There are 5 days of homework each week, and a video for each session. From Melissa, “In the pages of the Gospel of John, we can slow down and savor the peace of Jesus in a chaotic world.  When we look at the pace of Jesus during His early life and ministry, we realize the need to slow down and soak up His presence. “
I look forward to slowing down and spending time with Him and also my friends!
If you can join me, please let me know so that I can order your book!
Thanks, Barber Clark/205 441 5273 or barberclark905@gmail.com

- Rick Sharp will begin teaching a verse-by-verse study of the book of Hebrews that will begin August 14th. If you are interested in joining this Bible study at 4:00 pm on Wednesdays, please contact Rick at 205-835-2690.

- Until the end of August - we are working on the member’s list for the Directory.  Please check your name, address and phone numbers on the list to make sure everything is correct.  The lists are located in the Transept and Welcome Center.  If anything needs to be changed, please mark it on the list or contact the office and let us know. There is still time to submit your picture if you were unable to be photographed. Contact Melissa Smith at web.admin@trussvillefirst.com for details.

- Update: Deadline is SUNDAY! 53 out of 64 seats have been reserved. If you are planning to attend, please sign up now! The Women’s Ministry is sponsoring a Mother-Daughter-Mentor English Tea Party on Sunday, August 18 from 2:30 to 4:30pm in the Fellowship Hall. Join us for a cozy cuppa tea, delicate savories, sweets, and pastries. Our best china and teapots will grace our beautiful tables – each uniquely decorated. Hats and fascinators welcome, but optional! The cost per person is $15. In addition, donations are encouraged for Embrace - our 2024 mission project that supports foster children (you can drop off your donation to the church office). The event is open to high school girls and ladies of all ages. Seating is limited. Go to https://trussvillefirst.com/women-signup to register. Deadline is Sunday, August 11th.

- Volunteers are needed for the Wednesday night meals. We need your help to coordinate menus, help with the serving and clean up afterward. Please contact the church office if you are available to volunteer. Thank you.

- We are replacing the carpet and tile in the Sanctuary. Your donations toward this are greatly appreciated. Please mark your donation “carpet” in the memo line of your check.

- Naomi Girl’s Luncheon will be on Friday, August 16, 2024 at The Ark in Springville. 6204 Main Street, Springville, AL 35146. We will carpool. We will leave from the front parking lot at 11:00 am. Please contact Linda Shaddix if you plan to attend.

- We still have our “Lost and Found” in the church office. There are several jackets that have been turned in and a box of small items, including assorted jewelry. Some of the items have been here for some time. If you are missing something, please check with the church office.

- Little Jesus Adventures. We are on a mission to share Jesus with as many people as possible and we need your help! Pick up several Little Jesus figures from the church office, then go to the Facebook page called LITTLE JESUS ADVENTURES so you can like, follow, & invite your friends to the page. Be sure to pray over your Little Jesus before giving Him to someone you don't know and let them know you hope their day is blessed. Finally, take a picture of your Little Jesus when you place him somewhere or give him to someone and share it on the Little Jesus Adventures Facebook page. Thank you for joining us on this mission to share a Little Jesus with everyone we meet because change starts with us!

- Thanks for your help with the Naomi Girls’ 2024 service project. Please make your checks payable to the American Cancer Society with “restricted to Joe Lee Griffin Hope Lodge/Naomi Girls Project” on the memo line, so that your name will show up on the donor list.
