National Day of Prayer Vigil
Trussville First will be participating in the National Day of Prayer on May 5, 2022 by taking part in a 24-hour prayer vigil. We are asking those who participate to commit to 15-minutes of prayer during the 24-hour period of time. Our hope is that you will prayerfully consider being a part of the prayer vigil, as well as being in attendance for our new sermon series, The Power of Prayer. Genesis to Revelation
8:00 AM Thursday, May 5th to 6:00 PM Sunday, May 8th
People of all ages are welcome to read. Reading will be in 15-minute increments.
Individuals may sign up for one or two increments or a group may sign up for a block of time. A large print Bible (NIV) will be available; however, readers are invited to read from their own Bible and in their native language. It will take place at the Holy Cross Episcopal Church, 90 Parkway Drive, Trussville, AL 35173 (located across from the Veterans Memorial Park on Highway 11). Emmaus Cluster Meeting
April's Emmaus cluster meeting will be at Clearbranch UMC, 8051 Glenn Rd, Trussville, AL 35173 on Tuesday, April 26th, 2022. Be there at 6 pm to eat and the meeting will begin at 6:30 PM. If you wish to participate in the meal, please bring a food item to share.

Naomi Girl’s Outing
Wednesday, May 5th at Becky Webster lake house, (Ann Bowman’s daughter). Church bus and driver have been reserved. If you plan to ride the bus I need your reservation. Trip takes about 45 minutes. Meet in the church parking lot no later than 9:45 am leaving at 10:00 am. Return to church by 3:00 pm. If you plan to drive your car I’ll give directions Please bring your lunch!!! Take notice of date, not our regular meeting date on third Friday of the month.

Basic Lay Servant Ministry Class
A basic Lay Servant Ministry class is planned for Saturday, May 14th at Goshen UMC from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm. Rev. Mike Dunbar will teach this class. If you are interested in becoming certified Lay Servants or certified Lay Speakers, or have not had a class/training in over 5 years, please contact the church office for more information.

UMM Breakfast Meeting
The United Methodist Men will conduct their February meeting on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 7:00 am in the Fellowship Hall. Please remember that children and wives are welcome at meetings. Please notify Allen Hatcher by phone or text at (205) 773-9591 if you will be attending the meeting.

Senior Sunday
Senior Sunday has been scheduled for May 15, 2022. Breakfast will be served to the seniors by the United Methodist Men in the Fellowship Hall after the 8:30 service.

UMCOR & Samaritan’s Purse Donations for Ukraine
--TFUMC will be collecting donations to UMCOR for humanitarian aid in Ukraine. To donate, make your check payable to TFUMC and put Ukraine on the memo line. You can drop off your donations at the church office or place them in the collection plate during the Sunday services. You are also welcome to give online HERE and select UMCOR as the fund. The deadline to give for this drive will be April 30, 2022. After April 30th, donations may be made directly to UMCOR.

--On March 4, 2022, Samaritan’s Purse used a DC-8 cargo plane to airlift an Emergency Field Hospital and a Disaster Assistance Response Team to aid the Ukrainian crisis. March 6, 2022, Samaritan’s Purse is now in the process of setting up an Emergency Field Hospital on the outskirts of Lviv, Ukraine. The Emergency Room can handle 100 patients per day. Additional equipment is scheduled to be flown into Poland and taken to Ukraine this week. You can help by making a contribution to Samaritan’s Purse at the following link:

Community Food Bank
The Mission Team volunteers this month at the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama from 9:00 to 11:30 am on Thursday, April 21st. We are always accepting new volunteers! If you would like to join the team, please call Charlene Sharp at 205-835-2691 or email at csharp@bellsouth.net to register.

Leisure Group April Outing
On April 26 we will leave the church parking lot at 9:00 am to travel to Ave Maria Grotto in Cullman. After we tour the Grotto, we’ll enjoy lunch at the Busy Bee Café. They serve burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads and more. The cost of admission at Ave Maria Grotto is $8 per person.
