Your Place in Ministry - February 28th

New Upper Room Devotionals
Please be sure to pick up your copy of the Upper Room from the table outside of the Fellowship Hall. Thank you!

Lovelady Easter Baskets
We received a request again this year from Lovelady to provide Easter Baskets for the children of Lovelady Center. Last year, despite the COVID-19 shut-down, our church provided 100 baskets for the children. (THANK YOU – all of you made that happen!) This year is a bit different and we realize that many of our classes and small groups are not meeting in-person yet. We would like to provide as many baskets as possible to these children this Easter. Please contact the Church office if you (or your group) would like to provide Easter baskets and we can let you know which age groups are needed. We will need to have the baskets done and at the Church for pickup by Friday, March 26th. Thank you for your help!

Sunday School Lessons via YouTube
The Pioneer class prepares an online Sunday School lesson each week. If your Sunday School class is not currently meeting, or for anyone who would like to view the presentation, the YouTube link can be sent to your class president and he or she can share it with your class. (Class presidents only please) are welcome to contact Bill Alverson. Thank you.

Vacca Campus Youth Services
Just an update on our Vacca Campus Youth Services Ministry. Since COVID-19 has prohibited going inside to mentor the youth, Jim McDonald has still found a way to minister and has made several deliveries of Bibles and also packages of athletic socks. Although he has to drop off these items at the gate, they are making it inside to the youth and Bibles are much needed at this time. If you would like to donate Bibles for the youth, please drop off any you may have at the Church office. Your prayers for these youth and this ministry are also greatly appreciated.

UMCOR Disaster Relief
If you would like to donate to the Tornado or Texas Winter Storm Relief Efforts, the Church is accepting donations until March 14th. Please make your check payable to TFUMC and write “Disaster Relief” on the memo line. After March 14 (or if you prefer), donations may be made directly to:
UMCOR, P.O. Box 9068, New York, NY 10087
To designate your check write on the memo line: U.S. Disaster Response 901670

Easter Ferns for Missions
Rainbow Omega has agreed to supply a very limited number of their beautiful 10-inch potted ferns this year, once again for $20. As in the past, the sale of these ferns supports both our mission projects and Rainbow Omega. For those of you who purchased ferns last year and were unable to receive them due to COVID, we have held the money and your order form and will fulfill your orders first. All other orders will be on a first-come/first-serve basis. Order forms are available in the Transept, Welcome Center and the Church Office and payment will need to be attached to the order form. You can leave the order in the locking mailbox, or the church office door mail slot. We ask that you pick up your fern after the services on Easter Sunday (9:30 Traditional and 11:00 Grace Vision.) Since the supply is so limited – we will label the ferns so that there is no confusion as to who is picking them up. Thank you for your support.

Scam Alert
As email scams have become more numerous lately, TFUMC wants to make everyone aware that the church, or any of our pastors, will NEVER text or email you asking for assistance with gift cards. Please delete these types of requests. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the church office.

Worship Tech Ministry Opportunities
The Worship Tech Team is currently looking for volunteers to assist in running the computer for the screens, the Sling for livestreaming and the soundboard. You will be taught everything you need to know and it is a great way to help in the production of our weekly services. If you're interested in joining our team, please contact Dan Shirah or the church office.

Stephen Ministry
During these uncertain times (financial stress, health concerns, loss of loved ones), you may find you need someone to talk to. A Stephen Minister is a congregation member who walks beside someone who is hurting due to a death, divorce, illness, family issues, etc. The Stephen Minister has been carefully selected and trained to serve in this role because of his or her caregiving gifts. He or she listens, cares, prays, supports, and encourages when meeting each week with his or her care receiver for as long as there is a need. These meetings may take place in person, by video or by phone. If you could benefit from the confidential, one-to-one care and support of a Stephen Minister or would like to obtain more information, please contact Martha Cusimano at 205-601-9124 or mmcusimano@centurytel.net.
